Skype is ignoring my sound settings.

I'm using a beta of Debian Wheezy amd64 that uses Pulseaudio instead of Alsa. My headset works perfectly with all programs except for Skype. Regardless of what I set my sound settings to, Skype always plays through my laptop speakers at a very quiet volume. I've seen people with this similar problem fix this by going under the "Applications" tab and setting Skype's sound levels there. I, however, can't get Skype to show up in this tab. Is there a place where default sound settings for specific applications are saved? If a file like this exists, that may solve the problem.

Any help is appreciated. If you need to know anymore information, please let me know. Thanks in advance.

I had exactly this problem with Fedora 13 and Skype awhile ago, only solution was to completely uninstall Pulse Audio.

Once I did this I could use the ALSA mixer again and set individual levels and channels, and everything in Skype started working - including my mic, which I could not get to work at all while Pulse Audio was still installed.

Recently got FC17 and had to do the same there - yum uninstall pulseaudio should do you fine.
