simple software to cut movies into clips

Hello!
I'm looking for a very simple graphical utility that allows to cut *.avi (probably DivX or XVid codec) movies into small clips. I need NO re-encoding, no changing codecs, no effects, nothing uneccessary, just timeline (with per-frame precision) and simple stream-copy and maybe changing playback speed (slowing down). I can do this using mencoder, of course, but I have a 1.5 hr movie and I need to make a clips from certain scenes, and some of those scenes are several seconds long (it's a martial arts movie and I want to examine certain elements/moves), so calculating correct clip position and length can be tiresome, slow and not precise enough.
What can be used for this purpose?

Thanks.

Hjsplit. Get the java version, it works on all platforms. To launch it, just do java -jar /path/to/hjsplit.jar.
