Question Shortcut keys for Non-KDE apps in KDE

I know that KDE has great shortcut key features for all of it's own applications (like Amarok and Konqueror). But whenever I use a non-KDE app like Open Office, I can't use the shortcut keys. eg. I really like to use CTRL + F7 in Open Office to bring up the built-in thesarus. But when i'm running it in KDE, it just ignores my keystrokes. Same with other gtk and non-kde apps. How do I get KDE to play nice with shortcuts?

(My question does not involve launching apps, just using keys to activate features within them.)
