i am in shell shock after learning the so many shells present.

i am using redhat 9.0, at least for the time being, till some one tells me why and what distro i should move to.

my question was, which shell should i use?

The most widely used shell in the Linux world is bash, so that's probably wise to get used to. On pretty much any Linux system you will find bash and that's another upside of bash, plus it is very versatile (writing scripts is very straightforward) and easy to learn (compared to the more esoteric shells).

To be honest, I rarely hear of anyone using anything other than bash! It's my favorite too!
