Unhappy Severe Issues with Xwindows......

Hello guys
I am totally new in this forum and in the linx world too.... I am desperately looking for help to get my Xwindows issue resolved.

I have redhat 6.2 running on my laptop now
when I logon as root... and do a startx, my screen goes totally black, what ever I dont doesnt bring the screen back to life... I have to power off the laptop...

but when I am logged on as another user, everything is fine...

I remember playing around with the .config file which is created when we run the Xconfigurator.
for some reason I cant undo it.

any one?

thanks
maaand

I'm not certain, but it could be the .xinitrc file in root's home directory. You could take a look at it using a text editor as root. Maybe you'll see something wrong.

If you can't figure it out, you might be able to copy one of the users' .xinitrc to root's directory. First, remember to rename the old .xinitrc file before copying.
