Sendmail issue

Hi guys,

I am having a problem with sendmail.
I have it setup on one server and it is working fine.
On another server it isn't.
The config files all look the same, they are both running Redhat ES 4.
In the log file it says: gethostbyaddr(192.168.2.120) failed: 2
Would this be stopping the email from being routed on?
It says the email gets queued but I check the queue and it is empty.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Did you put the IP adress it's know by in /etc/hosts?

Yes, both the loopback address and the ip address of the network card are in there.
The gethostbyaddr(192.168.2.120) failed: 2 error has now gone.

Now when I send an email it gets stuck at

Oct 5 14:17:26 rs1 sendmail[19084]: k95DG6hX019084: to=bob.uncle@mydomain.com, delay=00:01:20, mailer=esmtp, pri=30007, dsn=4.4.3, stat=queued

Any ideas as to why it's not processing any further?

Try to resolve the FQDN and MX for the domain it tries to send to from the box?

Configure DNS servers to query in /etc/resolv.conf and make sure /etc/nsswitch.conf knows how to query it? BTW, depending on the amount of traffic you expect you may or may not benefit from having a local persistent DNS cache. I favour Pdnsd.
