script under /etc/init.d can not be started by reboot

Hi,

We have many scripts under /etc/init.d. Normallly if the machine reboot, these scripts will be called and the service such as the jboss will be started.

We have a LINUX-patch last week and after that it doesn't work any more, i.e. the Jboss is not started.

Someone know how to fix it?

Regards

Thomas

Try using update-rc.d to enable it for the runlevels you want.

I couldn't start the update-rc.d. It seems it's not installed.

Besides, I use RatHat Linux 5

Code:
chkconfig --list $service
will show you if the services are set to start automatically, and for what runlevels.

Code:
chkconfig $service on
will start it for runlevels 3,4 and 5.

Code:
man chkconfig
for more information.
