Hi!
I am looking for a school administration that is specifically desinged to cater to the following needs -
(1) Attendance
(2) Fee Collection
(3) Progress Reports, etc.,
Googling hasn't helped me so I am banking upon the knowledgeable memebers of Linuxquestions to help me out with this.

So then visit the Schooltool Project and see if it's useful, eventually in the future it will be; school financial management (your point 2) still is under development: http://www.schooltool.org/about-scho...et_language=en
OpenAdmin is easy and straight forward with fairly good support
ischoolad is fine, but was obviouly developed on a windows machine because there are numerous conflicts because of capitalized or uncapitilized file names and file references.
There is a simple program that I used to change all of the files named ischoolad called TextMagician. However, do not use it on the config file because it adds a blank line at the end of the file which leads to a lot of frustration in trying to figure out why the program stoped working after modification. I do have a zip of the ischoolad files if you are interested.
I have not used any finacials with either program so that I don't know about.
Well obviously I couldn't see it ...
If it's that old with no replies maybe close it?
We don't normally close threads because they are old and stuff. Regardless, it's not my call (I'm a moderator for another forum). The spammer resurrected this dead thread, so maybe we could give this a chance to see if it turns into a new discussion regarding open source school administration software. If it doesn't, it can die a natural death (or it can be nuked by a moderator).
You can do what you want. I have been contacted by someone from the forum twice for the ischoolad files and have forwarded them both times. It is not my program nor am I associated with any of the programs I mentioned.
BTW - There was no let me sell you something. If you ever used a program developed on windows machine in a linux enviroment, you know the problem with file names that do or do not contain capital letters. Windows dosen't care. But Linux sure does abc.php and Abc.php are different files in Linux and and the same file in windows. I got caught and was trying to help someone else, because the license with ischoolad specifically prohibits distribution of modified code.

If you can afford windows operating system, <<Advertising removed>> is also a very good school administration software. Its reliable and affordable.
It has 26 modules. You can choose the modules as according to your requirements and purchase new modules later on. It saves your cost, and you need to spend only for what you need.
