SAMBA share becomes write protected

Hi, I have a DietPi Debian installation running a SAMBA share on an external USB drive. I can happily read/write from one of my Windows laptops. If I then try to write from my second Windows laptop, the drive appears to become read only with "An unexpected error is keeping you from creating the file ....". If I unmount/remount the USB drive, it is writeable again but the same issues happens again if I try to write from the send laptop.

Have you checked the system log for I/O errors?

I would check the appropriate logs on all three systems. Also: it was not clear from your post whether the second system's attempt to write succeeded, or if the action caused errors to begin to occur on the first.
