Samba recover file

I have saved a number of files to my samba drive today, and deleted them. I would now like some of this Is there anyway to recover files from a samba drive after they have been deleted?

This was all done in the course of a day and my backups are done at night, so thats not an option.

It will depend what filesystem you are using

This depends on the underlying filesystem of the samba drive. For EXT2, you can try using the EXT2fs Undeletion mini-HOWTO.

Ok I realize i didn't answer the question about the filesystem.

I'm not sure what the answer is, how can one check what filesystem they are using, I'm guessing it is ext2 because from what i've read that is the most common.

thanks.

So you're running ext3. Unfortunately, files are generally near-impossible to recover from ext3 partitions. The coroners toolkit may be able to help some, but it's no guarantee.
