I used this https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Ho...20Brief%20Way! to create my samba share. I am using Ubuntu 14.04 for a server and Mint 17.2 for a client. When I try to connect to the share from the client I receive this...

$ smbclient -L //192.168.0.13/keithshare -U keith
Enter keith's password: 
session setup failed: NT_STATUS_LOGON_FAILURE

What did I do wrong?

More detail would help.

Is smbd running on the server?

ps -A | grep smbd

Is the password properly entered in /etc/samba/smbpasswd?

Can you browse to the share in your file manager? (http://192.168.0.13)

What is the relevant entry in /etc/samba/smb.conf?

ps -A | grep smbd replied...

63 ? 00:00:02 smbd
65 ? 00:00:00 smbd
81 ? 00:00:00 smbd

And I am unable to browse the share.

The only changes made to smbd.conf is what was on the link above with the exception of replacing place holders with /keith and /keithshare
