Running script with -m option / Kylix installation
Hi
I am trying to install Kylix on Fedora 1 and despite running the pre-install tests which tell me my system is fine Kylix refuses to install.
I have setup.sh script that came with kylix and apparently according to some sites i searched down the problem is with an rpm bug.
I have read on one site that if I run the script with a -m option it will not use the rpm and should install fine.
My question is
I can run the script by clicking on it on KDE environment but I cannot work out how to run it with the -m option.
I think the problem is my inexperience with linux.
Can anybody help me.
Thanks in advance
Peter
This is a copy of the page on the borland forums where I found the advice
The Error -10 is a generic install error. The usual cause of this is due to a previous version of Kylix that wasn't uninstalled completely. Check the RPM database to see if there are still components from Kylix installed, use the command rpm -qa | grep kylix to check for installed packages. If there are any packages still on the system, use rpm -e < PACKAGE> to remove them.
This can also be caused by a bug in the RPM manager that causes it to incorrectly check package dependancies. If this is the cause, then you can use the -m switch on the installer.
