Just set up my server, and have rtorrent installed on it. I have just set up all the rtorrent.rc file, except one part.
The torrent watch folder is /home/ryan/rtorrents. this is an nfs folder. So i can download the .torrents on my pc, then rtorrent reads them over the network.
My question, since this is a network share, does rtorrent need to have access to the .torrent all the time during its download, or once it had opened to .torrent is that it? and it no longer needs the file.
Also how can i set up the schedule to look at the watch folder once a day at 19:00:00? i managed to get the throttleing set up, im just not sure about the watch folder set up.
If I remember correctly, this feature makes the program read a folder and download everything that is inside it.
So, answering your question: No. The program doesn't need to have access all the time to this folder, but this access is needed everytime the program starts. After it finishes reading your .torrent files inside this folder you don't need it anymore.
I don't like this feature because when you finish your downloads and move the files, you'll have to go to the folder where your .torrent files are stored and delete the ones that are finished, otherwise, you'll download all of them again next time you start the software.
a so that brings me to my next question. Is there a way to get it to delete the .torrent file when its finished. And also is there a way to get it to move the completed download to a seperate folder when its finished.
say i download to /torrent/temp. and when im finished can i get it moved to /torrent/finished???
