rpms don't install


hey its me again with redhat 9 now rpms won't install at all.. before it used to pop up a box asking for the root pass and then it would install or sometimes freeze but now it does nothing and i've tried the command line thing too but it does nothing as well can anyone tell me whats wrong? KDE here.. and i've only had redhat 9 for about a day now

won't install?
try
rpm -ivh filename.rpm
if it is in a format of
filename.src.rpm
after
rpm -ivh filename.rpm
do
rpm -ba filename
or
/usr/src/RPM/SOURCES
contains the sources compile them manually.
