Question RPM Re-installation

Is there a way to force an RPM to reinstall - my OpenLDAP installation got a screwed so I just want to re-install the RPM...but when I try to remove it it tries to remove all of its dependants too. Is there a way to bypass that?

Yes, there is the --nodeps flag; but make sure that you do re-install it or otherwise it will break the dependencies.

Use the following command to force the rpm for installation

rpm -ivh --aid --force <rpm name>

It should work.
