rpm command not found


yesterday the command was normal
but today the command was not use

reinstall rpm ?
what should i do?

you can start by telling us some useful information... you've not even told us what dsitribution you're running, what version, what commands you're runnign, who you're running them as... please understand we are not psychic.

it prompt

-bash: rpm: command not found

no, more than that please. what do you actaully type and where, what does your prompt look like? who are you lgged in as? what does "which rpm" or "whereis rpm" say?

i want to install libxml2-devel-2.6.7-1.i686.rpm


[root@localhost]# rpm -ivh libxml2-devel-2.6.7-1.i686.rpm
-bash: rpm: command not found

updatedb & locate rpm |grep *bin

what does that say??

i can't rpm -i or rpm -e or rpm -q anything
my rpm command doesnt work at all

[root@localhost rpm]# updatedb -V rpm
updatedb (mlocate) 0.15

Well it looks like your rpm is gone now i'm not a rh type of guy but I if rpm isn't in a bin dir there is something wrong.

isn't there a source distrib for rpm you could compile a new version
