Ok, here goes.

I have searched google and this site as well as others. I can not find out what the 'gcc' & 'cc' paths should be in the $PATH location.

I am trying to get the compiler to recompile my kernel with the new NVIDIA drivers. I installed the drivers under my previos version kernel 2.6.5-1.358.

Now, I downloaded and installed the new kernel 2.6.8-1.521 and everything was fine. When I try to install the nvidia drivers at command line I get errors that are the same as in the forums. I have done everything in the forums thus far that I could find.

Ok, now I decided to stay with 2.6.5-1.358 and install the nvidia drivers under it.
This worked fine and I have had minimal problems.

So I decided to download drivers for my printer (Epson Photo 820). As it was said, the printer is well supported by the drivers.

I ran the ./configure file and poof, same erro 'no gcc or no cc found in the $PATH'.

So, I installed gcc with all its dependencies, tried gcc at the command line. Error, no command was found for gcc.

Tried ./configure same error. I believe my $PATH still does not have the correct path needed to run gcc & cc. Only problem is : I dont know where the gcc or cc lib locations are?

My questions:

How do I uninstall the nvidia drivers so that I can boot into 2.6.8-1.521? As of now, it just reboots and can't load the Xserver for linux under that kernal build.

How do I setup all the correct $PATH information for gcc & cc to work properly?
It would be best if I could get my 2.6.8-1.521 fix the NVIDIA compile problem, then install the printer drivers.

If someone can answer those few questions I believe I can finish the rest on my own. I will write a full documented tutorial for these issues once resolved because I am sure others are having similar problems.

Thanks in advance for any help.
