I use a Fedora Core 4 box with KDE as my "terminal" at work so I can work on multiple Solaris boxes at once without having to use CDE. This works great. As an added bonus, KDE's desktop sharing allows me to access my workstation from home and gain access to all of my open sessions.

However, when typing in my VNC session with my KDE desktop, I often have my typing repeated. Sometimes one keypress will end up repeating a character as much as 10 times. This is not consistent - some typing is just fine and other times I can't do a thing because the repeats are so bad. I've explored the KDE control panel for some sort of network config to adjust the desktop sharing but I can't find anything that helps.

Is there a way to tweak the performance of the KDE desktop sharing? Has anyone done anything to correct this problem? I did try searching for this but couldn't find anything. If this has already been answered I apologize.

While I haven't found a way to "fix" KDE desktop sharing, I instead got VNC to work with my native xorg desktop.
