Redhat 9 rpms

I installed the snort rpm and use rpm -e to uninstall, but when I click on the package it says it's already installed. How do I delete it?

"How do I delete it?"

Login as root

Find out if snort is installed with:
rpm -qi snort

If snort is installed then uninstall it with:
rpm -e snort

If rpm -e snort does not work then what error messages do you get?

Just forget it made the switch to Gentoo instead.
