Red hat 9 installation: kernel panic problem


Hello friends,
I need ur help..I have installed Red hat enterprise linux 4 and red hat 9 on the single harddisk,but when i boot from redhat 9..it says <0>kernel Panic: Attempted to kill init. but when i boot from RHEL4,its booting..why and whts is the problem to boot from redhat9..please help me.

Support for RH9 was dropped in 2003. More than likely your hardware is newer than RH9 and so it does not know what to do with it.

Could also be a bad CD. Best to use ubuntu.

Or use Redhat Desktop "18" = Redhat Fedora 9,
........ or Redhat Desktop "19" = Redhat Fedora 10.
