Recent command-line tools to check out

Over the last couple of years, there have been a number of very cool new command-line tools, mostly written in Rust or Go. Here are some I recommend at least looking at:
  • fzf: A command-line fuzzy finder
  • ripgrep: ripgrep recursively searches directories for a regex pattern
  • fd A simple, fast and user-friendly alternative to 'find'.
  • exa is a modern replacement for ls
  • even-better-ls ls with customizable icons and colors,

It's not that new and not very interactive but, I really like syncthing for syncing files between my computers without resorting to: jamming tons of junk into my git repo or google.drive or USB stick just to copy files between my computers.

The tools we already have are very powerful, but there is a program that is missing.

What would really improve working at the command line is a web browser that is really usable but light weight.

We have a few, but none of them can play videos straight up, & most have trouble with PDF files, also they work in peculiar ways mostly.

Graphics can be done in the frame buffer, so I don't think it would be impossible, but no one seems to be interested in programming something like this, which is a shame.
