rebuilding a modules.dep file?

No modules load when I boot the computer. It gets to hotplug and starts going through everyline of my modules.dep file and says "unparsable". About fives minutes later (after it is done going though every line) it continues the boot process and I can login. I just don't have any periphrial control. lsmod is blank, column titles only. Kde loads, but no extra hardware is available.

Does anyone know how I can rebuild my modules.dep file?

I tried posting this in the Slackware distro area a few weeks ago, but I never got a response. I apologize for the repost, but I hope by placing it here, it might get more attention.

My current modules.dep, syslog, and dmesg files http://www.pyro.ws/linux/helpme.htm

Please help....in the meantime I am forced to use win98SE, and I can't standthe constant lockups. (10 icons in my system tray, no room in memory to run anything)

Thanks!

Please do not post the same thread in more than one forum. Picking the most relevant forum and posting it once there makes it easier for other members to help you and keeps the discussion all in one place.
