question on directory views in kde

my question is for people that have seen windows xps directory contents thumbnails-
(the four mini pictures that show up on your folders when you look at a folder with a few images in it and you are in view-thumbnails in windows xp)
can you make kde or gnome also have this feature?
i know you can manually make each folder the icon of ONE image you select on your computer but i was hoping i could look at my whole images collection the same way you can in windows xp. it saves alot of time on windows when you have to find a picture in a group of 30 or more folders and all your pictures' file names are "DSC01231.jpg" or wutever number..

To switch your directory view in Konqueror, you go to the file menu view/viewmode and select icon view. However, I am not sure that this will offer you the desired result. But you can give it a try.
