quake 3 install

Hey guys, I'm a new linux user. I really like it so far but still having a hard time grasping linux concepts. Anyways, I downloaded the quake3.run file and sh'ed it and when I went to run it I got a Sys_Error: Couldn't load default.cfg
If someone could explain to me why that's happening and how i can go about fixing it I would greatly appreciate that! Thanks

Hey,
Did you run the .run file as root? I assume you made it executable too?

What distro are you running, just out of curiosity.

I've installed q3 before and it wasn't a big deal, you're issue might just be related to permissions.
