Qmail as a relay server

I've got qmail installed and running and I can send/receive email for the local domain, but I want to also use it as a relay front end to another server for non local domains. I'll have the qmail server sitting in front of the Win based mail server and when a email comes in for xdomain.com I want the qmail server to accept it, and then send it on to the Win2k server.

Can anyone point me in the right direction to do this? I saw rcpthosts but I didn't see where to provide the static route to then forward it on to, nor what qmail would do for a non local domain in the rcpthosts.

Hopefully this makes sense?

/var/qmail/control/smtproutes contains information for routing mail based on domain (we use it to define an alternative route for internal mail, to the rest). Our lines look something like:

<domain name>:<internal ip address>
:<external smtp server address>

the first lines states that mail for <domain name> goes to <ip address>. all other mail goes to <external smtp server address>.

As for receiving mail, I always get confused, the site http://www.lifewithqmail.org/ is a good source of references for the options available. I think that more than one file under /var/qmail/control/ may need modification.
