qmail and Getmail

HI all...

I´ve got a problem with Getmail in qmail.

What I need is the following:
I´ve got qmail running OK, everything works...
At this moment I need something to get emails for me on a POP3 account from an ISP, cause I´am waiting for my Fix IP Adress to relay myself.
For this I found Getmail and it should work fine, it does actually, but when it gets the mails (configured with CRON Jobs every 5 min.) it posts the emails in my Maildir as an Owner as the Cron Job was running.
I´ve got 25 accounts to get an so all the mails in the Maildir has the same Owner/Group.
Result: --> A cant get 24 of the emails with the Client like Outlook or what ever as the Client cant open the mail. It doesnt have the right owner. The 25 th client works (myself) as I work with the same user with runs the Cron Job, so there is no Owner problem.

I tried to fix this by givin all th Maildir´s in /home/ the modus 0770 for Group rights. but it doesnt work cause the file in the Maildir has the wrong owner.

How can I fix this... should I run a second cron job like
chown -R 0770 /home/
so after getting mails it changes the owner of the hole /home/ dir.
It´s not very safe I think...

Please, any suggestions ?

Regards and Thanks

Try this:

Create a group for all users with pop3 accounts to belong to call it getmailers.

Make all of your users members of this group including your user that owns the cronjob that initiates the getmail process.

change the permissions on the home directories for the above users to 770. ie read/write/executable by the owner and members of the group.
