proftpd configuration problem

my proftpd control people allow upload only for certain file extensions
e.g. jpg, gif, bmp, png

I use PathAllowFilter directive to accomplish my task

PathAllowFilter \.(jpg|gif|bmp|png)$

however problem appear, the directive also control the directory name
that is I cann't create a directory without

.jpg , .gif, .bmp or .png at the end of a directory name

Is there any solution how to resolve it ??
