Problems with KPPP

I am running the latest distro of Knoppix Linux and it is installed to my hard drive.

So i open KPPP and configure the login script so it sends my pass and user name and i configured the phone number, so it connects and then i open the connection monitor and it acts like it is connect so i goto use any internet related application and it doesnt work.

So then i try pinging the remote server (which i am connected to aka the msn server) and it works fine.

But if i ping and other server, etc it fails....

Any Help?

hey

Hey,

yes i have tried Wvdial.

It connects and the acts as if it is connected but i can only ping the MSN Server and Myself.

The connection is active however...

PPPSTATUS says "Stalled" but i can still actively ping the msn server and it resgiters as bandwith sage so everything is okay there.

But then when I goto use an internet application it doesnt work and it isnt a DNS problem either because i can't ping other server's ip's only the msn server.

Any Idea?

KPPP prints the following in the debug(script log window) window during connection:

ATDT5407670130
Connect 45333/ARG/V90/LAPM/V42BIS

UQKT2
roa-va9.rasserver
login:MSN/xdarkprogrammerx
Password:
Entering PPP Mode
Async i-face Address is UnNumbered(FastEthernet0)
Your IP Address is 0.0.0.0. MTU is 15006

But then after it finishes a second late in the details i have an ip assigned and it is the proper ip that i should have for msn.

and when i run wvdial i never get that far because after it connects and all it gets to 'Entering PPP Mode'

And Then Stops...

And Stays as if iam connected but i cannot do anything once again but ping the MSN Server.

Strange Problem Eh? I Really need to get this to work so all help is appreciated.

-Thnx
