Problems with Exchange Integration

I have newly installed FC3 and I am trying to integrate it with my active directory at work. The problem I am having is that my Evolution mail does not talk to the Exchange server. I currently use my Windows box outside of the actual domain and have total access to what I need. I am not sure but I think it has something to do with the mode (Native 2000) in which the active directory is in but I wanted to ask before I write off using my Linux box at work.

Do you use NTFS as the filing system on the Windows machine hosting the active directory?

Just a wild shot in the dark - most Linuces can't read NTFS without a kernel module, and can't write at all as far as I know...

Yes we are running everything in NTFS (XP sp2 and Server 2000 and 2003) and so far I have not even tryed to work these networking issue. As far as I have read Samba 2.2 should fix many of the problems I am going to have as far as integrating network shares.

O ok - but since I know nothing about "active directory" you may be right. As far as I know Samba just calls SMB functions on the remote windows machine which means it uses its own drivers and code to write to NTFS volumes - which you correctly state should solve integration problems.
