Problems Compiling Problems With GCC And C++


Hey folks,
I know there are already some posts out there for this one but im still having problems with my c++ or GCC compiler.. Ive wanted to compile so many differnt applications but i couldend because i keep getting the dreaded "fails sanity check" here some background for me and my problem:

-Been using linux mandrakde off and on for the last 3 years
-Currently using mandrake 10.1 community
-Not an expert with any linux operating system , but i do know how to use it.

Things ive tried
-Inserting the "IGNORE CC_CHECK" in the makefile.
-Looking for new compilers
-Uninstalling and reinstalling new compilers
-Looking for new libraries and header files

so far none of thoes meathods have worked and im just running out of ideas and I am in no way a linux expert so i am kinda stuck here. ANy help at all would be greatly apreaciated. Thanx
