Hello, i have a 30 gig drive which is partitioned into 3 drives of equal size. C;\ has windows installed on it, and D & E are file storage drives. I attempted to install Linux Mandrake 7.0 onto D:, and apparantly it went fine but when i try to boot into linux i get the classic

preparing machine to load "Linux"
....
LI_

Now i know this has somehting to do with installing linux too far along the drive, as it should be installed near the begtinning right? So how do i correct this without uninstalling windows, installing linux, then putting windows back on after that? Im really at a loss here any help would be greatly apprecated. This was my first attempt at installing Linux and after MUCH trial and error i finally got to this stage but now i am totally out of ideas.

you can easily restore the windows boot loader by putting in a boot disk with fdisk and running

fdisk /mbr (it may be the \ slash or a -, not sure which one)

this will restore you boot record and allow you to boot into windows again.

as how to fix your boot problem. i am not really familar with lilo. make sure you install lilo to hda master boot record.
