problem with yahoo messenger uninstall on fedora 2

I have installed the yahoo messenger for linux fedora2 by using the rpm package
rh9.ymessenger-1.0.4-1.i386
after installing it everytime i tried to open it , it times out .

i tried to uninstall it using the rpm command on shell , but it prompted that the aforesaid package was not installed .
then i tried to re install it using rpm -i rh9.ymessenger-1.0.4-1.i386 command but this time it prompted that this package was already installed .

is there another way that this can be done ??

Do,

#rpm -qa | grep -i rh9.ymessenger
if the package is installed, it will be listed, then do
#rpm -e nameoflistedpackage

try this exact cmd: rpm -qa *mess*

this command will query all installed packages in the rpm db and output every packages installed with the included search text.
