Use repo-manager to set your sources.
It is in MX Tools.

Excuse my english is not good.

I have file on the name of "/etc/apt/sources.list" which is empty.

I also have folder at the name of "/etc/apt/sources.list.d/" which contains all of the sources list.

What do I have to do?

I cannot rename with the scrib "cat". I've tried the command befor but nothing happens...

Use repo-manager and all will be done for you. No need to manually edit any files.

I tried with MX tools, and it tells me that the update will be later...
I'll wait and see.
Bye and thanks!

Ok. Lets start fresh.
First run
Code:
sudo rm -rf /etc/apt/sources.list
this will remove that empty file.
Next we want to delete the /etc/apt/sources.list.d directory and all of its contents.
Code:
sudo rm -rf /etc/apt/sources.list.d
Then we will create the directory again.
Code:
sudo mkdir /etc/apt/sources.list.d
Next we want to add a repo list so that apt can update when requested. Copy the following.
Code:
# Use with Debian Stable/stretch repositories. Set as default for antiX-17. Note new repos

deb http://repo.antixlinux.com/stretch stretch main
#deb-src http://repo.antixlinux.com/stretch stretch main

#stretch backports
deb http://ftp.debian.org/debian stretch-backports main

# Debian stretch Updates
deb http://ftp.fr.debian.org/debian/ stretch-updates main contrib non-free

# MX Community Main and Test Repos
deb http://la.mxrepo.com/mx/repo/ stretch main non-free
#deb http://la.mxrepo.com/mx/testrepo/ stretch test

# opera
#deb http://deb.opera.com/opera/ stable non-free

# virtualbox
#deb http://download.virtualbox.org/virtualbox/debian stretch contrib
Then we will copy and paste this as follows.
Code:
sudo nano /etc/apt/sources.list.d/sources.list
Save this file by pressing Ctrl+X enter y then enter again.
Then you can run the following
Code:
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade
see the screen shots.

Do not do the above. As I keep saying, use the repo-manager app.

Hi guys,

I think my update of the pacs etc. is working.

But I don't understand why I have nothing in the file "sources.list"?

Well. It works. Let it.

Thank you.

Oh well, since you are using MX Linux, you really should do it the way they advise.
