Problem with Linux console colors

Hi,

I have been having a strange problem lately. Anything in red seems invisible (black text on black bg) in console (runlevel 3). This goes for the active links in lynx, comments in emacs and even text in a sample program I had written in C using ncurses.

The same text looks OK on xfce's gui Terminal.

Has anyone seen this before?

Regards,
Siddhesh

Update: The red color shows up well on gnome-terminal as well as xterm. It doesn't work only on the text console. All other colors work fine.

Hi,

This one's solved. My fb console was in 4 color mode. Hence it was not showing red. Moving to 16 bit color gave me red.

Regards,
Siddhesh
