hi there, I have a dual boot system set up using grub as the bootloader and FC3 on one partition and win XP on the other... my problem now is that winxp needed re-installing, so I have re-installed, but this seems to have written over the MBR (thanks Bill Gates you ****) so now GRUB doesn't load, and I therefore cannot access linux. HELP! How do I set up GRUB again from windows?

I have tried chucking the fedora install disk in again and trying to create a new bootloader configuration, but it says that as no kernel packages were installed, then it will not change the current bootloader configuration... how do I get it to do this???

Burn a knoppix cd. Boot the knoppix cd. Go to console (Ctrl+Alt+F2), type
grub<enter>
and install grub according to the instructions you will be receiving inside this grub shell you are now in.

keep a linux boot disk handy! I run slack, and can use the first CD as a boot disk... i'm sure other distros have similar options. This is exactly why when you setup a multi-boot you install MS first. And if you need to reinstall/repair MS, you better have a boot disk handy, because your MBR WILL be overwritten!
