Problem installing Suse 10.0 as video shuts off upon first reboot
I have been trying to install SuSe 10.0 as an upgrade to SuSE 9.3. The times I have tried that resulted in the video system shutting down upon the first boot before configuration. I had downloaded the Evaluation Version. It also happend on the Live version as well. They system loads and then ther eis no video signal to the monitor. I am using a system ifth a VIA VT2405 based video system and a ViewSonic A-90 monitor. This did not happen in any previous installation /upgrade. I downloaded the DVD version via FTP.
Is the something new in the latest version so that it no longer recognizes video cards SuSE had recognized before? I have tried all sorts of help forums, including Novell. No luck so far.
The only thing I can suggest, is save what you think is important as .tar.gz files. Burn them to a cd, or upload them somewhere. Then run Kill Disk & wipe the whole hardrive. Then install SuSE Linux 10 as a fresh brand new system.
