Printserver

Can anyone tell me how to set up an print server for over 300 users
I do not want to add 300 user names.

Now only root can print to the printers and normal users can not .

When printing as a normal user i get the massage ; no such user

is it possible?

I have been using suid bits on lpd and lpr but that does not work

Any one got an idea

you have to setup samba so it will allow guest users to use shares including printer.

btw you don't need to be root to print. I have setup some linux print servers on win2k/nt networks and worked fine even with old samba
