Possible to set up LAMP box mapped as drive in windows?

I'm a PHP developer and would like to set up a LAMP box as a development server. Ideally, I could just plug the 2nd box into one of the ethernet jacks on my linksys router and I could connect to it directly from my windows XP desktop (can I map it as a drive?) and also access it as a web server in a browser by IP or by alias.

Is that possible? Would I need any special networking software? Any advice would be much appreciated.

you just want to use a samba service on the linux box as normal. Whatever distro you are using will almost certainly have some sort of tool to simplify it.
