Pop-up: "program executable (null) could not be found."..?
I've installed a few too many interesting items with Yumex into Fedora-14..
When I click to download an interesting pix, for my editing hobby, I get this here pop-up after saving the pix:
"The program executable (null) could not be found.
Make sure that ClamAV/ClamWin is installed properly and check the Fireclam settings."
I searched Yumex for Clam and Fireclam, and they aren't installed, and I don't want it installed, because Clam slows-down the operation a lot in these prehistoric old towers...
Seems I installed a peripheral for Null and Clam, but what could it be..? I've searched through Yumex.. I just can't figure it...
I installed all the "nulls", hoping that would eliminate that irritating pop-up.. It didn't... Seems my only option is to reinstall the OS to get rid of the pop-up.. Is there another option?..
The word null is used because the executable name is missing. It means nothing, nada, zip - not even zero. What are you using to download pictures ? It is obviously set to pass downloads through a virus scanner, which you don't have. Tell that program not to try doing it.
I'm running FireFox in the MetArt newsletter for pix..
I don't see any scanners in FireFox's tools, addons, or themes.. but that doesn't say that it's not a FireFox addon's glitch... I'll try deleting FireFox 100%, and reinstalling it...
Thing is I didn't install a virus scanner.. And I can't find anything related to a virus scanner installed using Yumex and forum searches.. Seems I'm left with no option but reinstall the OS, to eliminate this little mess.. but I will wait a few more days for forum member tips to test out.. Maybe there is a cure, but reinstalling is no big thing.. it always works as the last resort, and it doesn't take too much time and effort..
Maybe I've stumbled into an obscure Fedora softwares incompatibility glitch..? Just my luck...
It's probably my messing in the system like I used to do in Window's OS's.. The things I did in Windows registrys are still left as "unclassified".. It's a wonder my hd's didn't unhook themselves from the towers, and run and hide in dark places.. like the time my M-board modifications made the CPU explode its plastic right off the chip, exposing its pretty ccts, and the other times that I had lots of white smoke streaming from the tower's vents... I do so have fun with technerology...
Oops!.. It weren't obvious to me, till I got home an hour ago, and started right in on this glitch... I've been searching the big picture when it was in the littler picture... I probably picked-up on what you "sent"... Seems I've got too much extreme science and cosmic stuff taking up all my thought processing to notice the silly little things.. Must be gittin' old and loose... Silly me...
Thanks for all your genius advice...
Actually I'm trying to get out of the insides of the computer...
I cares if it works'n all.. Then I just wants to use it for what it does to make my hobbies viable and enjoyable.. but I'm forever fixing something in it...
Anyway, the downloads pop-up is gone.. oh yay!.. Next!..
