Plotting graphs over many cycles

what program should I use to plot the graph of things like

y=(sin(x0 + sin(x/1.16) + <more of same>) and wonder what will di it for me.

FYI, that represents the graaph of two notes of a chord. If the chord was in A, it would be 380Hz and 440Hz. These two gradually cancel each other nearly completely and then add over about 11-12 cycles.

Ideally I'd be able to spread them out and follow the graph over some distance.

Gnuplot can probably do that in one command.

Yes, thanks, it seems capable of that. Grappling with syntax

I need that graph with a fairly decent grid on it, and it's giving me the top half of the sinewave but not the bottom. Better than Matlab.
Have you used the thing much?

Yes, quite a bit, spread over a long period of time. Each time, I find I have to re-learn the syntax. I find it convenient to go through the examples, and modify something that is close, according to my needs.
Perhaps post what you've tried, or at least some version that seems close.
