Does your PC's BIOS boot from CD-ROM first? It's not clear why you can't boot from a CD.

To unmount, just do:

Code:
# umount <nameoffile>.iso
Give us more to work with. It's not 100% what you're trying to accomplish.

Cheers.

Did you burn the iso to cd using cdrecord or some other command-line tool or a graphic tool such as k3b? Or, did you copy the iso to cd?

The iso must be burned to cd in order for it to boot correctly.

Check the md5 sum of the iso you downloaded, and compare it to the md5 sum at the website you got the iso. The command to use to get the md5sum: md5sum <iso name>

Then check the md5sum of the cd you made. If the md5sum is the same for all three cases, you have a good download and a good cd. If the md5sum of your download or cd do not match the md5sum at the website, then you have a either a corrupt download or a bad cd burn, and you will have to download the iso again, or burn the cd again.

Ensure that you burned the .iso as a disk image and didn't just burn the file to disc. After that you should be able to boot from the disc by pressing F-12 during the boot process. An easy way to tell is to put the disc in your cd-rom and open the disc. If you see the .iso file then you need to reburn as a disc image.
