Hi,

Then you didn't look hard enough. The third link when looking for "keylogger for linux" is to a forum. On that forum you'll find two links to software. The post are quite old but the links (the first for sure) still link to existing website and software. The software linked to doesn't only log local but also telnet, SSH and others. So that should suite your needs I believe. Also there's an 'old' thread here on LQ regarding the same subject in which you might pick up some ideas. Happy searching!

Kind regards,

Eric

Hello,

No problem :-) Also if you're looking for something to log what your users are doing when assuming root powers, you can have a look at rootsh.

Kind regards,

Eric

People wouldn't look for 'keylogger' because it is associated with hacker behavior. One wouldn't even think a keylogger exists that is safe to use. (Justifiably) Negative connotation and all that.

Besides I wouldn't want a keystroke logger. I'd want a permanent preservation of command history files; conceptually that's easier to read than ten thousand lines of "ld^HD^H^Hdir^H^H^Hls", lol.
