Photo upload problems with 64-bit Jaunty

I have Picasa 3.0 installed on my 64-bit Jaunty box. Everything seems to work as it should (even though it uses Wine) except for photo uploads. When attempting to upload, the application goes gray and freezes until I close down the upload function.

I do a lot of digital photo uploading and there also seems to be a problem uploading to popular storage sites such as Shutterfly and Snapfish when using their upload interface. The firefox windows go gray and uploading or selecting photos is spotty at best. I have also tried this with Opera and it does the same thing. Uploads will take place if basically nothing else is running and I don't mess with the upload window once it is started.

Has anyone else experienced these issues or have a solution? Flash seems to be up to date on my system and works when browsing any website. I have version 10.0 r32 installed. When I navigate to the Adobe website, it says my flash is up to date. Is there an issue with 64-bit and flash uploaders. Does someone have a solution to solve these upload issues? I dual boot with XP and my hardware is more than capable of performing multiple tasks at the same time. Picasa and web uploads work fine in XP. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Hi,

Kind of aside to your issue: Google has a Linux Beta... teehee

Please be aware that sometimes network protocols differ in linux... I don't think Wine will *by default* compensate for these. For example, I have MS Office installed in CX Office [commercial version of WINE]... I can't install new addons or use the built in thesaurus/dictionary.... Microsoft shouldn't be able to tell that I run MS Office through WINE... Furthermore, I doubt they would be petty enough to turn off my thesaurus/other internet content... LOL, that seems silly, but hey, I could be wrong.

This doesn't seem to be a concern for most MS office users [on linux] as I can't even find this problem on google... I think my subscription expired, so I might not even be able to search on CX Office tech site...

Try looking on the CX Office applications site...
Here is WINE's APPDB

Try the linux beta and see if upload works. Somebody mentioned on the above link somewhere that the linux beta works as well [or better] than the windows version on Wine.
