Question Permission denied?

Hi all,

I use Evolution Ximian for my email and Opera for a browser. My question involves clicking on an email link on a web site. When I do, I expect to see Evolution start up and open up a new window to compose an email. NOT. I'm getting a message window saying I don't have permission and then prompts me as to whether I want to go to the configuration page to "fix" it. I do and it opens up the config page for Opera where I set up which email I want to use. From there, it shows the path to the Kicker folder where the Evolution file is. Do I need to change permissions or ownership or group or what? I have no idea.

Thanks for your help.

Mike

Permission denied will quite often mean the file is not executable.

Try to start evolution in an xterm and see what the results are.

I think maybe I didn't explain this well enough. I should have explained that I have no problems at all using Evolution Ximian for email. It's only when I click on an email link on a web page that I get this message. I end up having to figure out the email on the web page and then cutting and pasting it into Evolution manually. I can open Opera mail just fine if I use that as the default in the config but I don't want to use Opera mail. I have all of my accounts and everything set up for Ximian.

Thanks.

Mike
