Hi.
Using Linux Xubuntu 12.04.
I have downloaded some application samples that have
.jnlp extension. Actually, these are small JavaFX applications. And .jnlp should run with Java Web Start.
Firstly, I had OpenJDK 1.7 with Iced Tea Web Start installed, and when I tried to open some of these applications, nothing happened. Then, I have read (somewhere) that Oracle's Java is better for running these kind of files. So, I have removed OpenJDK, and installed Oracle JDK 7 (update 55, latest), following
this guide.
So when I type "java -version" in terminal I get:
Code:
myUsername@XubuntuPC:~$ java -version
java version "1.7.0_55"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.7.0_55-b13)
Java HotSpot(TM) Server VM (build 24.55-b03, mixed mode)
When I try to open some of the ".jnlp" samples I have, Oracle's Java logo shows up like it is loading but after couple seconds just disappears and nothing happens.
On Windows, these files run fine.
So, what do I need to run these files on Linux?
