Anyone sucessfully got Java to work in Opera 6.0 with RH 7.2 ? I really like opera as a browser, and ive followed the instructions on Opera's site for using the NS4 plugin, but things are still screwy. Any tips ?
It worked for me, I had java installed previously and opera picked it up flawlessly (java1.3). Check if you have kaffe installed
rpm -q kaffe
if it returns kaffe-version.release
get rid of it and reinstall java
rpm -e kaffe
then install java according to the doc you read.
I am haveing problems with 1.4, for instance in any browser the applets start but won't do anything - I have to minimize the window and maximaze it again to give applet a go, and it seems to be a problem with every java version I've had from java.sun.com
I got my java 1.3.x from http://www.blackdown.org
<edit>I am waiting for them to release java1.4</edit>
