? on SAMBA Shares

hello,
recentlly installed SAMBA on my mandrake 9.1 machine and am trying to print using printer attached to windows xp machine. i've gotten as far as i can see shares on SAMBA server from explorer and can log into windows server see output:
root@Thinkpad eroica]# smbclient '\\DELL8400\Downloads'
added interface ip=192.168.1.101 bcast=192.168.1.255 nmask=255.255.255.0
Got a positive name query response from 192.168.1.100 ( 192.168.1.100 )
Password:
Domain=[CARRIER] OS=[Windows 5.1] Server=[Windows 2000 LAN Manager]
smb: \> dir
. D 0 Sat May 21 13:22:49 2005
.. D 0 Sat May 21 13:22:49 2005
etc...

but i cant print even though i see printer share :
[root@Thinkpad eroica]# smbclient -L dell8400
added interface ip=192.168.1.101 bcast=192.168.1.255 nmask=255.255.255.0
Got a positive name query response from 192.168.1.100 ( 192.168.1.100 )
Password:

from the output it looks like i am pretty close but i'll be damned i cant print and if i use konqueror i can only see shares if i use ip address of xp machine. i also cant get a listing of directories in konqueror. any suggestions most welcome. i had the printer hooked to an old win98 machine and printing worked fine on the same samba setup .

What happens when you try to print - do you get an error?

thanx for the advice. i got the printer working by reinstalling cups on my linux machine. I was originally too lazy to do this thinking it didnt matter because i swapped out the windows box only & cups and/or samba wouldnt notice. i guess i was wrong. the only problem i have now is i cant get konqueror to see the shares. i can get a listing of all shares if i use the ip address only but cant look @ contents of any directory. is there something i'm missing. u dont have to mount the shares b4 u can see them do u? any suggestions welcome. by the way i can see linux shares and copy no problem from win box....
