Hi,
I am thinking of making the big jump: dumping windows and getting on board with linux.
However, the one thing that really hurts is the non-avaiability of any proper Office suite. OpenOffice is OK but lacks some basic functionality and Sun Star Office 5.2 was downright trash
Hmm, the only alternative I'd concider is OpenOffice, Kword is good at understanding doc format but it won't save into doc format, Sun's Star Office, ergh, is sort of went off hand. Another choice bomb Bill's email asking him to port MS Office to linux, hmm with the success of OpenOffice he might do so. Oh, well, see what others will suggest.
What functionality is StarOffice lacking that you wish to see? I have found it to work very well, and is able to everything I do with Office, though I am no major corp or developer of any sort. It has been able to open everything I have thrown at it so far, with no problems.
What are you looking for I guess is what I am saying.
