nVidia driver problem in BlueWhite64 (Slackware)

Hey,
I'm new to this forum, and I need your help.
Now... what's my problem. I'ved installed BlueWhite64 (Unnoficial port of Slackware for amd64 machines), after a paintfull installation.
Because of the nVidia video card, I'ved reinstalled the OS, 3 times today.
So... this is what I'm oing when I'm installing it.
1. Downloading the proper nVidia driver.
2. Rebooting.
3. sh NVIDIA*
4. I'ts installing.
At the end, it gaves me a error, which, says that the driver wasn't installed. I reboot, and the x-server won't start.

Befor this, I was using KDE 35, now I'm using Xfce.

P.S. I'ved searched everywhere, but didn't find anything, if I didn't searched, correctly, please correct me.

Beste Regards !

1.- are you sure you got the right driver for a 64 bits machine?

2.- did you configure xorg.conf adequately to use nvidia instead of vesa or nv or whatever else?

If it gives you an error, you should pay attention to that error, and if you don't understand it, post it here. We can't do anything but guess if you don't provide us with all the info.

Yup, I'ved got the correct drivers, this isn't the firs distros, on which I'm installing nVidia drivers.
What't to configure.
I'ved understood the error, it whas kind of:
"The Nvidia drivers wasn't succesfully installed, please check .../log, please visit our site and read the README file"

That's all.

So... I din't thinkg I made myself clearally, the Xserver won't start. That's all, if you know, another alternative, to install the driver.

There should be more info. If not, check the log file that the program tells you and post it here or in pastebin.

That doesn't help either. Xorg will definitely produce errors unless the computer freezes when starting. So, provide them as well. You can find additional logs at /var/log/Xorg.0.log usually.

You don't have to be defensive, i92guboj just tried to help, honestly
When nvidia driver fails, it can be for multiple reasons..
The error is usually reported in /var/log/Xorg.0.log file

[edit]
Also in /var/log/nvidia-installer.log file

Not really.

When there's a problem it's better to be patient and fix it. Reinstalling a dozen times will usually not help at all. We don't usually rebuild a house just because we don't like the color of the walls. I gave you instructions above about where to look.

Look the Xorg.0.log file, post it in pastebin.com and give us a link so we can review it. Look at the errors of the nVidia installer. It should give us more info than a simple message telling us that the installation failed. Even if it's greek to you, paste it here.

Without more info, I can't help at all, as much as I wish.
