Unhappy No sound with FC3 (2.6.9-1.667smp) on Intel 915 GAV motherboard

Hi Everybody,
I'm Praveen,a new Linux user. I recently installed FC3 on my system with Intel 915GAV motherboard (I installed FC3 because my SATA hard disk was not detected by FC4) . And this motherboard has inbuilt sound card which works alright with Windows XP. But with FC3, I get no sound. While running alsamixer, I get following message:

alsamixer: function snd_ctl_open failed for default: No such file or directory

Since, I am new user of linux, I do not know what to do next to make my system singing on linux also. So, I'm writing you all for help. I shall highly appreciate your valuable suggestions. Looking forward for your reply.
Regards

Welcome.......

I am also using intl 915 chipset motherboad.

To make the sound card work perfectly, you have to upgrade your kernel to 2.6.15-1 or higher. and also alsa 1.0.10-3 ( i am using it)

You can use "yum update" to upgrade hole system.
